Terms and Conditions
DryLane | Last updated: 29 May 2026 | Effective date: 19 May 2025
1. Who we are
DryLane ("DryLane", "we", "us", "our") is a mobile application operated by Alin Avram, an individual developer based in Romania, acting as a data controller and service provider under Romanian and European Union law.
Contact: support@drylane.app
Website: https://drylane.app
2. Acceptance of these Terms
By downloading, installing, or using the DryLane application (the "App") or any associated services (collectively, the "Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions ("Terms"), our Privacy Policy, and any additional guidelines or policies we may publish.
If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service.
Where required by law (including for users in the European Economic Area), your continued use of the Service after being presented with these Terms constitutes your informed, free, and unambiguous consent to them.
3. Description of the Service
DryLane is a motorcycle route planning application that offers:
- Turn-by-turn motorcycle route calculation between user-defined waypoints;
- Real-time and forecast weather overlays along a planned route;
- Geocoding and address search;
- Saved route management;
- Optional premium subscription features (see Section 6).
The Service is provided on an "as is" basis. We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where technically and commercially feasible.
4. Eligibility
You must be at least 16 years old (or the minimum digital consent age in your country if higher) to create an account. By using the Service you represent that you meet this requirement. If you are using the Service on behalf of a legal entity, you represent that you have authority to bind that entity to these Terms.
5. User accounts
You must create an account authenticated through Firebase Authentication to access certain features. You are responsible for:
- Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials;
- All activity that occurs under your account;
- Notifying us immediately at support@drylane.app of any unauthorised use.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or that are suspected of fraudulent activity.
6. Free and Premium plans
The Service is offered on two tiers:
Free plan
- Up to 3 route calculations per day;
- Up to 1 intermediate stop per route;
- Up to 1 saved route.
Premium plan
- Unlimited route calculations (subject to fair use — up to 5 per minute);
- Unlimited intermediate stops;
- Unlimited saved routes (subject to fair use — up to 5 saves per minute);
- All future Premium features added during your active subscription period.
Fair use
"Unlimited" Premium quotas are subject to per-minute burst caps of 5 requests per minute for both route calculations and route saves. These caps exist solely to prevent automated abuse and do not affect normal riding and planning use. DryLane reserves the right to throttle or suspend accounts that demonstrably and repeatedly exceed these limits in a manner consistent with automated or abusive behaviour rather than genuine personal use.
We may adjust plan limits from time to time. Material reductions to Premium benefits will be communicated with at least 30 days' notice.
7. Subscriptions, billing and cancellation
7.1 Billing
Premium subscriptions are processed exclusively through the platform on which you purchased the App:
- Apple App Store – billing is handled by Apple Inc. Your Apple ID is charged at confirmation of purchase.
- Google Play Store – billing is handled by Google LLC. Your Google account is charged at confirmation of purchase.
We use RevenueCat as our subscription management provider to verify and track entitlements. No payment card data ever reaches our servers.
7.2 Free trial
Where offered, a free trial will convert to a paid subscription at the end of the trial period unless cancelled beforehand. The trial duration and conversion price are shown at the time of purchase.
7.3 Renewals
Subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period (monthly or annually, as selected) unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the renewal date. The renewal price is charged to your App Store or Google Play account within 24 hours prior to the renewal date.
7.4 Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time through your App Store or Google Play subscription settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not process cancellations directly.
7.5 Refunds
All refund requests are handled by Apple or Google in accordance with their respective refund policies. We are unable to issue refunds directly. If you believe you are entitled to a refund, contact Apple Support or Google Play Support.
EU / EEA consumers: Under EU Directive 2011/83/EU (Consumer Rights Directive), you have a 14-day right of withdrawal from the date of purchase of a digital service subscription. By actively using the Premium Service before the 14-day period expires, you expressly acknowledge that performance has begun and that the right of withdrawal is lost upon full performance of the digital content delivery. If you have not used the Premium features, you may request a refund within 14 days by contacting support@drylane.app.
7.6 Price changes
We may change subscription prices with at least 30 days' notice. Continued use after a price change constitutes acceptance of the new price. If you do not accept the new price, you must cancel before the next renewal.
* Displayed prices are indicative and may vary by region, currency, and applicable taxes (including VAT). The exact price you will be charged is always shown on the purchase confirmation screen before you complete any transaction.
7.7 Apple App Store — required addendum
If you downloaded the App from the Apple App Store, the following terms apply in addition to all other provisions of these Terms. This addendum is required by Apple Inc. and is incorporated into the end-user licence agreement between you and DryLane (Apple's "Schedule 2" EULA requirements):
- Parties. The licence granted to you for the App is between you and DryLane only, and not with Apple Inc. ("Apple"). Apple is not responsible for the App or its content.
- Scope of licence. The licence granted to you is a non-transferable licence to use the App on any Apple-branded product that you own or control, subject to the Usage Rules set forth in Apple's App Store Terms of Service.
- Maintenance and support. DryLane is solely responsible for providing maintenance and support services for the App, if any. Apple has no obligation whatsoever to furnish any maintenance or support services with respect to the App.
- Warranty. In the event of any failure of the App to conform to any applicable warranty, you may notify Apple and Apple will refund the purchase price (if any) for the App to you. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Apple will have no other warranty obligation whatsoever with respect to the App. Any warranty claims are subject to the disclaimers and limitations set out in Section 13 of these Terms.
- Product liability. DryLane, not Apple, is responsible for addressing any claims by you or any third party relating to the App or your possession and/or use of the App, including: (i) product liability claims; (ii) any claim that the App fails to conform to any applicable legal or regulatory requirement; and (iii) claims arising under consumer protection, privacy, or similar legislation.
- Intellectual property. In the event of any third-party claim that the App or your possession and use of the App infringes that third party's intellectual property rights, DryLane, not Apple, will be solely responsible for the investigation, defence, settlement, and discharge of any such claim.
- Legal compliance. You represent and warrant that (i) you are not located in a country that is subject to a U.S. Government embargo, or that has been designated by the U.S. Government as a "terrorist supporting" country; and (ii) you are not listed on any U.S. Government list of prohibited or restricted parties.
- Third-party beneficiary. Apple and Apple's subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms. Upon your acceptance of these Terms, Apple will have the right (and will be deemed to have accepted the right) to enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary thereof.
7.8 Google Play Store — payment note
If you downloaded the App from the Google Play Store, payment processing for Premium subscriptions is handled solely by Google LLC, not by DryLane. Your purchase is subject to the Google Play Terms of Service in addition to these Terms.
8. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the Service while operating a vehicle;
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the App;
- Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service;
- Attempt to circumvent usage quotas, authentication, or access controls;
- Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable law;
- Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written consent;
- Transmit malware, spam, or any harmful code through the Service;
- Impersonate any person or entity.
Violation of these provisions may result in immediate termination of your account and, where applicable, legal action.
9. Safety disclaimer and assumption of risk
9.1 Assumption of risk
By using the Service you explicitly acknowledge and accept the following:
- Motorcycling is an inherently dangerous activity that carries a risk of serious injury or death regardless of the information provided by any application.
- You are solely and exclusively responsible for all decisions you make before, during, and after any ride, including whether to ride at all, which route to take, and how to respond to conditions you encounter.
- DryLane data is a planning aid only. It does not replace your own judgment, local knowledge, or physical assessment of road and weather conditions.
- You assume all risk associated with riding and with reliance on the Service. DryLane and its operator expressly disclaim all liability for any injury, death, property damage, financial loss, or any other harm arising from your use of or reliance on the Service.
9.2 Weather data disclaimer
Weather information displayed in the App is sourced from WeatherAPI.com, a third-party forecast provider. Weather forecasts are inherently probabilistic. They can be inaccurate, delayed, incomplete, or entirely unavailable. DryLane does not generate, verify, or guarantee the accuracy of any weather data. In particular:
- Forecasts may fail to predict sudden changes in conditions, localised hazards (fog, black ice, flash flooding), or rapidly developing severe weather.
- A "clear" or "dry" forecast does not guarantee safe riding conditions.
- Data may be delayed by network latency, caching, or upstream API outages.
- You must not rely solely on DryLane weather data when making any riding decision. Always consult authoritative national or regional meteorological services before riding in uncertain conditions.
9.3 Routing disclaimer
Route calculations are performed using map and routing data provided by Mapbox and based on OpenStreetMap contributor data. This data may be outdated, incomplete, or incorrect. In particular, suggested routes:
- May include roads that are temporarily or permanently closed, seasonally impassable, or restricted to certain vehicle categories.
- May traverse private property, toll roads, or roads for which a permit is required.
- May include sections that are unsuitable, hazardous, or illegal for your specific motorcycle type, licence category, or skill level.
- Do not account for real-time road conditions, surface quality, gradient, traffic, or construction works.
You must independently verify any route before riding it. DryLane is not liable for any consequence arising from following a suggested route.
9.4 No use while riding
Never interact with the App while operating a motorcycle or any other vehicle. Doing so is illegal in most jurisdictions and is extremely dangerous. Plan your route before you set off and pull over safely if you need to consult the App.
10. Intellectual property
All content, code, design, trademarks, and other intellectual property in the Service are owned by or licensed to DryLane. No licence is granted to you beyond the right to use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes in accordance with these Terms.
Map data displayed in the App is sourced from third parties (see Section 11) and subject to their respective licences. OpenStreetMap data is © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence (ODbL).
11. Third-party services and data
The Service integrates with the following third-party providers. Your use of the Service is also subject to their terms and privacy policies:
- Google Firebase (Firebase Authentication, Cloud Firestore) – firebase.google.com/terms
- Mapbox (maps, routing, geocoding) – mapbox.com/legal/tos
- WeatherAPI.com (weather forecast data) – weatherapi.com/terms.aspx
- RevenueCat (subscription management) – revenuecat.com/terms
- Apple App Store / Google Play Store – billing and distribution.
We are not responsible for the availability, accuracy, or conduct of these third-party services. Links to third-party sites do not constitute endorsement.
12. Privacy and data protection (GDPR)

13. Disclaimers and limitation of liability
13.1 Disclaimer of warranties
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, non-infringement, or uninterrupted availability. We do not warrant that route, weather, or map data is accurate, complete, or current.
13.2 Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, DryLane and its operator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or damages for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or use, arising out of or related to your use of or inability to use the Service, even if advised of the possibility of such damages.
Our aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of (a) the total fees paid by you to us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or (b) EUR 50.
13.3 Consumer rights (EU/EEA)
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes any liability that cannot be excluded under mandatory applicable law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any statutory consumer protection rights that cannot be waived. EU consumers may also benefit from mandatory protections under the law of their country of residence.
13.4 Force majeure
DryLane shall not be liable for any failure or delay in providing the Service caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control, including but not limited to: outages or degraded performance of upstream service providers (including Mapbox, WeatherAPI.com, Google Firebase, RevenueCat, Apple App Store, or Google Play Store); acts of God; natural disasters; internet infrastructure failures; government actions; or any other event that a party could not reasonably have anticipated or prevented. During any such event, our obligations under these Terms are suspended to the extent affected.
13.5 No professional advice
DryLane is not a meteorological service, navigation provider, traffic authority, or safety device. Nothing in the Service constitutes professional meteorological, navigational, legal, or safety advice. You must not treat any data provided by the Service as a substitute for professional judgment or authoritative information sources.
14. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless DryLane and its operator from and against any claims, damages, losses, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising from: (a) your use of the Service in violation of these Terms; (b) your violation of any applicable law; or (c) your infringement of any third-party right.
15. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access to the Service immediately if you breach these Terms, without prior notice and without liability to you.
You may delete your account at any time through the App or by emailing support@drylane.app. Deletion cancels your account but does not automatically cancel a subscription — you must cancel billing separately through the App Store or Google Play.
Sections 9, 10, 13, 14, and 17 survive termination.
16. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated Terms in the App or by email at least 30 days before the changes take effect. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.
If you do not accept the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service and, if applicable, cancel your subscription before the effective date.
17. Governing law and dispute resolution
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of Romania and, where applicable, the laws of the European Union, without regard to conflict-of-law principles.
Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall first be attempted to be resolved by contacting us at support@drylane.app. If we cannot resolve the dispute informally within 30 days, either party may submit it to the competent courts of Romania.
EU consumers: If you are a consumer resident in the EU/EEA, you may also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. You retain the right to bring proceedings in the courts of the EU member state in which you reside.
UK consumers: UK mandatory consumer protection laws apply. Nothing in these Terms affects your statutory rights.
No class actions (non-EU/EEA users): To the extent permitted by applicable law, any dispute must be brought on an individual basis only. You may not bring or participate in any class action, collective action, or representative proceeding against DryLane. This restriction does not apply to users who are consumers resident in the EU/EEA or any other jurisdiction where class action waivers are unenforceable as a matter of mandatory law.
18. Severability and entire agreement
If any provision of these Terms is found to be invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in full force and effect. These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy, constitute the entire agreement between you and DryLane regarding the Service and supersede all prior agreements.
